#40 - Suspiria (1977)
Suspiria (1977)
This is one of my favorite horror films, even though it's not really a perfect movie. The characters act irrationally, the plot doesn't always make sense, and the dialogue is often poorly dubbed. However, this movie makes up for all it's flaws with tons and tons of style, from the memorable and unique death scenes to the surreal red and green lighting that pervades the whole film. The music is also great, with a score that is mostly prog-rock by the band Goblin. Many horror fans claim this is one of the scariest films ever made, but I don't think I agree with that. The final scene is very creepy, and there are some good scares, but mostly this is just a very well done, super stylish thriller.
