Re-Animator (1985)

Based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story "Herbert West: Re-Animator" (at least in general - the plot has basically nothing to do with the story), this is a great comedy/horror film that reaches levels of insanity that few movies are able to match. Director Stuart Gordon is brilliant at building up momentum, starting relatively tame but ending with one of the craziest climaxes in horror film history. Funny and extremely graphic, this is one is a classic and a must see for fans of comedy/horror like Dead Alive, Evil Dead II, etc.

Also, the score for this film is amazing, because it is almost entirely just a remix of the great Psycho score.
