#31 - The Body Snatcher (1945)
The Body Snatcher (1945)
Yet another great Val Lewton procuded horror film, this one directed by the great Robert Wise. When doctors in Victorian-era Scotland run out of cadavers to study, they turn to rather unsavory methods of obtaining them. Boris Karloff steals the show as cabman/graverobber John Gray, who starts off as a bad guy and ends up worse. Bela Lugosi gets second billing, but he's actually only in a few scenes (good ones, though). A great and creepy film.
