#37 - Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015)

This is pretty standard fare for this series - strange activity happens in a house, the family sets up cameras to see what's going on, and ghostly (or demon-y) hijinks ensue.  This time, they have a special ghost camera that can somehow see spirits, so we are treated to a couple neat shots of black blobs floating around bedrooms and stuff like that.  Inevitably, a priest is called in to get rid of the demon.  The plot to this one is actually kind of complicated, involving a cult from the past that kidnaps children from the future to act as sacrifices to a demon, but it's sort of brushed aside in favor of more jump scares.

This was an alright movie - there's nothing particularly offensive about it, but nothing particularly great either.  I really liked the first Paranormal Activity but haven't really kept up with the rest of the series, so I don't know if the plot would make more sense to me if I had watched them all.  I'm guessing not.  If you are a fan of haunted house/possession movies this one isn't bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it either.
