#28 - Boar (2018)
(dir. Chris Sun)
A creature feature about a giant boar, set in the Australian Outback. That's about it, and it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect. I mean there are characters and a basic plot, but none of it is really all that important and the most interesting characters (a pair of grouchy old men) aren't in all that many scenes. The huge boar kills people, then some more people, the end. It's a simple premise that's executed fairly well, but also isn't especially worth getting excited about.
The practical effects on the giant boar look pretty good, although it does switch to mediocre CGI whenever the boar is running around. Also Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) is in this, but he's playing a kind of generic step dad character. He's a fine actor and all, it's just kind of weird to see him playing against type.
Not much to say - it's a decent killer animal movie but it didn't really grab me.
