#10 - Haunter (2013)
Lisa is a 15 year old girl who, along with her family, seems to be trapped in a kind of time loop. Every day is exactly the same, and no one seems to notice it besides her. It becomes clear very quickly that they are actually dead and living as ghosts. When Lisa begins searching for the truth about how they died, she finds that an evil spirit has trapped them in this loop and inside their house. She also discovers that she is not the only victim...
This movie is a mess, mostly because it tries to do way too much. Lisa is a ghost, who is held captive by another ghost who used to be a serial killer. His victims, who are also ghosts, are also being held captive, and Lisa can kind of connect with them sometimes. Meanwhile, Lisa finds she has a (different) connection to a living girl named Olivia, who will soon be the next victim of evil ghost man. Oh, and when the bad guy was a kid, he murdered his parents, who are also ghosts in the house. And a child version of the killer is there too, as the imaginary friend of Lisa's little brother. There are way too many goddamn ghosts in this movie.
The core concept of the film is actually pretty neat, and I think if it kept things simple it may have worked. I would've liked to first see Lisa's side of the "haunting", and then be shown the same events from Olivia's perspective, filling in the gaps and pulling the story together. Instead, we see a bunch of random "creepy" things happen to Lisa that are never explained and seemingly have nothing to do with anything else in the film.
I could go on, but I think you get the idea. This movie has an interesting premise and a couple of OK scenes, but overall it is a trainwreck.
